American Legion Post 39 Makes Donation to Support Nursing Scholarship It Started in 1999

Pitt County American Legion Post 39 continued its support of PCC nursing scholarships by contributing a $2,000-check to the PCC Foundation this spring in recognition of the professional health care services Pitt nursing graduates provide the community. Presenting the check on the organization’s behalf are Post 39 member Rodney Choy (left) and Post 39 Adjutant Terri Choy (right). Accepting for the college are PCC Scholarships Coordinator Kim Simpkins (second from left) and Tavondia Burdett, director of PCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program. Established in January 1999, the American Legion Post 39 Endowed Nursing Scholarship is awarded annually.

On behalf of the Kiwanis of the Golden K Foundation, Bob Hursey (left) and Ray Jernigan (right) present a $1,000-check to PCC Foundation Executive Director Beth Sigmon in support of the Ricks Automotive Scholarship.
