WINTERVILLE—Progress continues on Pitt Community College’s future Eddie & Jo Allison Smith Center for Student Advancement.
Designed by MHAworks, the facility is being built across the street from the A.B. Whitley Building. At a cost of just over $14 million, the 28,000-square-foot structure will house a variety of student services, including the Slocum-Bunch Veterans Center, and PCC’s Institutional Advancement Division, which includes the PCC Foundation and the college’sVISIONS program and marketing and media relations departments.
The majority of funding for the Smith Center’s construction was raised through a PCC Foundation capital campaign and the NC Connect bond North Carolina voters approved in 2016. Barnhill Contracting Company began working on the project in October 2021 and is expected to have it completed in early 2023.
