PCC Schedules Scholarship Workshop

Rob Goldberg | February 22nd, 2021

WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College will hold a virtual workshop March 2 to guide students through the process of applying for PCC Foundation scholarships.

Students and their families are encouraged to participate in this free event, which will take place via Zoom from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. High school counselors are also welcome to attend.

“We want students and their families to know they have a fantastic resource that can help offset the cost of their college education,” said John Carrere, director of PCC’s Office of Recruitment. “This event is designed to help demystify the application process and make it easier for our students to obtain academic and need-based scholarships.”

The PCC Foundation is encouraging all prospective fall students, including high school seniors and current Pitt students, to apply for 2021-22 scholarships before the current application period ends April 1. An online application, scholarship listing, and answers to frequently asked questions are available on the foundation website, pittccfoundation.com.

Before new students can apply, they must complete and submit a PCC admissions application. In the acceptance messages they receive will be important login credentials needed to access the online scholarship application.

Once the application period has ended, the PCC Foundation Scholarship Committee will work with Institutional Advancement staff from the college to administer and award most scholarships using the online system.

To register for next month’s virtual scholarship workshop, contact the PCC Office of Recruitment by emailing pccrecruitment@my.pittcc.edu.
