Meet PCC Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology student Michael Danielson.
A 1996 graduate of Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Va., Michael has received the PCC Foundation’s Danny Williams HVAC Memorial Scholarship.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PITT COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
“I chose PCC because of the HVAC two-year degree program and because it is very close to our home.”
WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR AREA OF STUDY?
“After I had lost my job, I knew I needed a job with a degree. I was intrigued by the HVAC program at PCC, and the high demand for service techs with great pay. In two years, I can have the knowledge and some experience on service repair.”
WHAT ARE YOUR EDUCATIONAL AND/OR CAREER GOALS?
“I plan to finish my second year of school in the HVAC program, graduate in the spring, and work for a reputable HVAC servicing company to gain valuable experience. Later, I will work on becoming a licensed service technician.”
WHAT DOES RECEIVING THIS SCHOLARSHIP MEAN TO YOU?
“This will help my family and myself financially during this season of COVID-19. While my wife works and I’m a student and stay-at-home dad, every bit of extra money to pay for school helps tremendously!”
