#GivingTuesday a Chance to Help VISIONS Reach Goal

Rob Goldberg | December 3rd, 2019

It’s the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, which means it is #GivingTuesday, a day of charitable giving around the globe.

This year, #GivingTuesday represents a chance for each of you to help the PCC Foundation reach its year-long goal of raising $1 million to match a generous pledge from the Eddie & Jo Allison Smith Family Foundation. The Smiths, who have been extremely generous to PCC over the years, have promised to provide as much as $2 million to the college’s VISIONS program by matching every dollar the PCC Foundation raises for VISIONS in 2019 with $2 from their charitable organization.

Started in 2004, VISIONS has provided nearly 1,000 Pitt County high school students with the support and direction they needed to receive their diplomas and move into higher education. One of those students, Curtisia “Tee” Canady,” is featured in the video above — and it’s very clear just how much she feels VISIONS has contributed to her success.

Please consider making a donation to the VISIONS Match campaign this month. Every dollar you contribute this month means the program receives $3 to continue educating and empowering VISIONS students for success.
