WINTERVILLE—Greenville’s John Bacon has joined the Institutional Advancement Division at Pitt Community College to oversee the college’s alumni relations program and help raise funding for the PCC Foundation.

As Annual Fund/Alumni Director, Bacon is responsible for expanding and strengthening the college’s connections to corporate donors and alumni. He will work closely with the PCC Foundation Board, manage the PCC Alumni Board, and serve as an advisor to PCC Student Ambassadors.

“I look forward to working with and being part of the PCC team,” Bacon said. “My immediate goals are to learn the many facets of Pitt Community College and determine how to best apply my friend/fundraising skills to an academic setting.”

Bacon, who earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from East Carolina University in 2002, spent five years as associate director of Campaign and Operations with United Way of Pitt County prior to coming to PCC. His professional career also includes five years in the banking industry and three years as the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce’s marketing/membership director.

A Morehead City native, John and his wife, Stephanie, have two daughters – Blythe and Rose. He is president-elect of University City Kiwanis Club in Greenville and enjoys golfing and spending time at the beach when he’s away from work.
