WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Alumni Association Board of Directors is accepting nominations for awards it will present to outstanding graduates this fall during a special event on campus.

According to PCC Alumni and Development Services Director Ashley Smith, the association has scheduled an awards program for Oct. 10 in the Craig F. Goess Student Center’s J. Paul and Diana S. Davenport Multipurpose Room. During the program, she said, the organization will present as many as five awards in the following categories: Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Alumni, Outstanding Young Alum, Employee Alumni, and Honorary Alumnus.

Smith says the recognition program is a great way to highlight the success of PCC alumni. She added that it is an integral part of the alumni group’s mission to reconnect former students with PCC and encourage them to support their alma mater.

“The PCC Alumni Association is proud of Pitt Community College alumni,” Smith said. “We love hearing their success stories and sharing those achievements with others.”

Smith says nominations will be accepted through Sept. 22. Eligibility requirements for each award and nomination forms are available on the PCC alumni website, www.pittccalumni.com, or by calling (252) 493-7229.

Completed nomination forms may be submitted to the PCC Alumni Office, which is located in Room 2 of the Vernon E. White Building on the college’s main campus. They can also be returned via mail (PCC Alumni Association, P.O. Drawer 7007, Greenville, N.C. 27835) and e-mail to adsmith@email.pittcc.edu.
